The whole world is twisted up

I can’t even bring myself to mention politics. I’m an emotional mess, very anxious, and fearful for what’s to come. I feel rather like I’m grieving.

So, instead, let us talk about gardening. It’s all been going in here. I’ve harvested my first mange tout, and we are regularly eating my lettuce leaves – which have grown quite happily without bolting in my pallet contraption. The same can’t be said for many of the other showings, but never mind!

More excitingly though, I have given up and harvested my carrots. I learnt two important lessons – firstly, that I am planting everything too close together, and secondly that I need to learn how not to grow twisted carrots. There are no stones, and its soft soil, so I’m wondering if this rather remarkable growth is because of the way I planted them?

Anyway, out they come to free up some space! We will be eating them and I’m sure they are tasty.
